The new year is here and I've been busy, busy, busy. Although I don't work over the summer and during school holidays, I've been busy hanging with my kids and enjoying our time off together. Therefore blogging and promoting and editing and writing have fallen a little by the wayside. I'm currently attempting to edit my historical romance novel Charlottesville and I then plan to finish the re-write of Control. My muse is hiding so new work is on the back burner. I have lots of WIPs to do so they may get a look at too if I find time over the summer.
The year started off with sad news. The death of one of my all time favourite musicians David Bowie. Now I know a celebrity dying gets way more attention then people who sadly die of cancer every day, but this particular death shook me. An amazing, ground breaking guru of the music industry has parted and it affected me. Not taken to my bed affected but rocked. The man was a genius may he rest in peace.
I intend to blog more this year. At the end of last year I posted a short story serial. Not sure how many people it reached but I posted anyway. The particular short isn't finished so I thought blogging it would spur me on to finish it (it is almost finished as is) but that didn't happen. I plan to do a blog about Love and Life in a Small City, taking tales from my dating life when I was single and my friend B's journey through the last few years of dating and finding love. When I'm going to start it is another question but it will be as soon as possible.... hopefully!
I wrote all my finished books and then the many, many WIPs I have in a short period of time and I think if fatigued me. The rest of my time has been spent editing and polishing the finished works. I haven't done any new writing for quite a while. I wrote The Dragon's Mate at the end of 2014 and I started yet another WIP in November but I haven't finished a full length novel in a while. I think I burnt out a little. I'm so busy editing and polishing, promoting while also working my day job and being a single mum. Time to sit at the computer is scarce and if the muse isn't there when I do have time, I'm wasting my time. The life of a writer... I'm sure my muse will come back when I finally get around to trying to finish novels I've started.
Anyway that is the start to my year and hopefully what is to come! Stay posted!
